This summer, head to Fantasy Adventure Camp from home with Minecraft: Education Edition

Spending the summer close to home is no reason to miss out on adventures. We want to give students the chance to go on a journey of discovery no matter where they’re spending their time off from school!

Our team has assembled a new collection of nine spectacular worlds that will help you explore and learn from the comfort and safety of your own home. So grab your sack lunch, slap on some sunscreen, and fill that water bottle, because this summer we’re headed to the Minecraft: Education Edition Fantasy Adventure Camp.

Over the next nine weeks, we’ll be sharing this series of worlds that take your learners on excursions all over the globe, back through time, and even into space. They’re ideal settings for summer learning activities, creative builds, or just a place to wander and explore. Throughout July and August, follow Minecraft: Education Edition on Twitter and Facebook to see where we’re taking campers each week.

So without further ado, take a look at the adventures we’ve released so far and let your learners’ imaginations roam!

1. For our very first adventure, we’re headed back in time to Florence, Italy, to discover some of the history, culture, and architecture of this beautiful city. In the City of Florence, learners can explore famous structures like the Piazza del Duomo, Palazzo Vecchio, Santa Maria Novella, Campanile di Giotto, and the Ponte Vecchio. Explore this world today.

2. Arctic Adventure: In our second fantasy adventure, take a sled dog tour through the Arctic while learning about the risks and rewards of the Far North along the way. This world by Minecraft Global Mentor Benjamin Kelly invites students to explore one of the harshest and most fascinating environments on earth!

3. International Space Station: The ISS has been in service for 20 years and orbits the Earth every 90 minutes. Throughout its life, the station has provided us with some of the most amazing views of our planet and important research about living and working in space, as well as the foundation for traveling to other planets. Now you can hop aboard to explore where the ISS’s 6-person crew lives and works in this solar-powered station high above the earth!

4. Running with Rhinos: Head to a rhino orphanage where you’ll learn about different species and subspecies of African rhinos. Find out about wildlife care and how these facilities operate, then design your own rhino sanctuary. Discover the wild world of conservation in a beautiful natural setting as you work to protect these magnificent creatures!

5. Neolithic Revolution: This week, travel back in time to learn more about one of the most exciting eras for humanity when we transitioned from hunter-gatherers to village life. Download the world to begin an exciting exploration of Stonehenge and the Neolithic Revolution.

6. Australia: Explore the Land Down Under in this tour featuring the Great Barrier Reef, Sydney Harbor Bridge, Uluru, and more! Created by year 6 students as a class project, this map allows campers to experience famous landmarks in Australia.

7. Roman Baths: Bath, UK has one of the most well preserved Roman baths in the world. The MEE World is a re-creation of that complex in its original form. Put your historian hat on and prepare for an adventure through the ancient Roman world in this lesson created by Ben Spieldenner of Cross Pond Collaborations.

8. Mesopotamia: Explore and experience life in Mesopotamia to learn about the Fertile Crescent and ways people adapted to this environment. Your history-loving students will be fascinated by this look at one of humanity’s oldest major civilizations!

9. Pilgrim settlement: This week’s destination explores the history of Colonial America! Go back in time as you arrive in Plymouth, Massachusetts on the Mayflower in the year 1620. There you’ll build a Pilgrim settlement and experience the life of an early American settler.
